ELIAS RAISER / DEEP LAND

At home outdoors.

I am Elias Raiser, founder of DEEP LAND.

A large part of my professional and personal life has taken place outdoors—in forests, mountains and many different landscapes. There I learned to look closely, understand natural relationships, find my way and take responsibility for myself and others.

Experience and responsibility.

I studied forestry, trained as a professional hunter and head gamekeeper, and spent many years professionally responsible for large forest areas.

Before that, I served as a paratrooper. There I learned to navigate difficult terrain, assess situations calmly and take responsibility for others.

Over time, I became increasingly aware of how important being outdoors and on the move remained to me—and how differently we experience a landscape when we spend not just a few hours, but several days in it.

The idea for DEEP LAND grew out of this experience.

Why DEEP LAND.

I am drawn to landscapes in which we can truly travel for several days. Not to see as much as possible, but to spend time in them.

On foot. By canoe or sea kayak. From a simple base. With time.

DEEP LAND creates the framework for these experiences—carefully prepared and guided, but not stage-managed.

I see my role as creating a dependable framework, providing orientation and taking responsibility. And then stepping back where the landscape itself is enough.
