2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. As the hosting provider, STRATO processes data that is technically necessary to deliver and securely operate the website. This may include the IP address, time and address of the request, and information about the browser and operating system. Such data may be processed in server log files.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure operation of the website and technical protection against attacks.
Server log data is deleted when it is no longer required for these purposes, unless statutory obligations require longer retention. Further information is available in STRATO’s privacy information.
3. Contact form and contacting us
When you send an enquiry through the contact form, we process the information you enter: first name, last name, email address, optional phone number and message, and—for a Private Journey—optional information about region, number of people and preferred period. We process this information solely to answer your enquiry and prepare an introductory call.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry concerns steps prior to a possible travel service; otherwise it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Required information is necessary to process the enquiry; optional information may be omitted.
The form is processed on the web server operated by STRATO and transmitted to the configured mailbox elias@deepland.earth using the server-side PHP mail function. No additional external form service is integrated into the website code. If you contact us directly by email, the providers involved in email transmission are also technically involved.
Enquiries are deleted once the purpose of the communication has been fulfilled and no statutory retention obligations apply.
4. Technically necessary storage
To retain your privacy choice as you move between pages, we store only whether you selected “Necessary only” or “Analytics” in your browser’s local storage under the key deep_land_consent_v1. The entry contains no user ID and remains stored until you change your selection or delete the website data in your browser.
In browsers that have been expressly and deliberately marked as operator devices, the local marker deep_land_internal_v1 may also be stored. Ordinary visitors do not receive this marker. It serves only to label the operator’s analytics requests as internal traffic, does not replace analytics consent and, without such consent, neither loads Google Analytics nor triggers an analytics request.
When you submit the PHP form, a necessary session cookie may also be set for technical session management. It does not contain the content of your enquiry and is deleted at the end of the session.
5. Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 only after your express consent to evaluate use of this website statistically. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use the Google tag with measurement ID G-SXJYWCTG7B.
Without your consent, the Google tag is not loaded and this integration sends no analytics measurement requests to Google. If you accept analytics, the website loads the Google tag and Google Analytics may process page views, session data, interactions and technical information about your browser and device. With enhanced measurement enabled, page views, scrolls, outbound clicks, interactions with embedded videos and file downloads are recorded. Automatic measurement of site searches and form interactions is disabled.
After a contact enquiry has been successfully handed to the mail transport, and if analytics consent is already active, the event generate_lead may be sent to Google Analytics to measure a successful contact enquiry. It contains only the constant source value lead_source: website_contact_form. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, the selected interest category, messages and other form content or free text are not sent to Google Analytics as event parameters. Success is measured only if analytics consent was already present when the form was submitted and remains in place when the confirmation is shown; later consent does not trigger retrospective measurement. This website does not send its own user IDs.
The website uses basic Consent Mode: before you consent, the Google tag remains fully blocked. Consent signals for advertising and personalisation are permanently set to “denied” in the website code. Google Signals is disabled both in the Google Analytics account and in the website code. The Google Analytics property is not linked to Google Ads, and the website does not integrate Google Ads, remarketing or other marketing tags.
After consent, Google Analytics may use the first-party cookies _ga and _ga_SXJYWCTG7B to distinguish browsers and sessions pseudonymously. Google Analytics reports predominantly present aggregated usage statistics; this does not guarantee complete anonymity.
In the Google Analytics account, event data is retained for two months and user data for 14 months. The retention period for user data restarts with new user activity. These settings apply to user-level and event-level data and do not affect standard aggregated reports.
We store your choice using the consent mechanism described in Section 4. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect through “Cookie settings” in the footer. On withdrawal, further measurement through the Google tag is disabled and accessible Google Analytics cookies on this domain are deleted. The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal remains unaffected.
The legal basis for storing or accessing information on your device is your consent under Section 25(1) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG); the legal basis for subsequent processing of personal data is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Further information about Google’s data processing is available in Google’s Privacy Policy.
6. Recipients and possible transfers to third countries
As the hosting provider, STRATO receives data technically necessary to operate the website and processes the information submitted through the contact form on the web server. After you consent to analytics, Google also receives the data collected through Google Analytics.
Google operates servers in various countries, so data may also be processed outside the European Economic Area. According to Google, such transfers may—depending on the recipient country and the specific transfer—be based on adequacy decisions, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for certified Google entities or, where required, standard contractual clauses. Google provides further information in its information on data transfer frameworks.
7. Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right to access your personal data, to rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, and to data portability. You may also object to processing based on a legitimate interest. You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect.
To exercise your rights, send a message to elias@deepland.earth. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
